Russell Westbrook has played a key role for the Sacramento Kings in his first season with the team. The former NBA MVP joined the Kings in the offseason via free agency after he decided to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Denver Nuggets.
In 14 games played so far this season, Westbrook has averaged 14.4 points on 43.6% shooting, 6.6 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 28.5 minutes per contest. The 37-year-old is also knocking down a career-best 2.1 triples per contest on a 40.5% clip. Westbrook was recently promoted to the starting lineup by head coach Doug Christie, replacing veteran guard Dennis Schroder.
