Keeping in line with the true meaning of Christmas, many sports figures and celebrities are using this time to lend a hand to people in need. Partnering with The Children’s Guild D.C. Public Charter School, Russell Westbrook gave back to the community in a holiday drive.
Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook is doing what he can for those in need around the holidays. “Yesterday my friends, family & I were in LA handing out Thanksgiving meals to those in need,” he tweeted. “Things are challenging right now & people are struggling. This is why it is more important than ever for me to support my community any way I can while keeping everyone safe.”
In response to the challenges of the digital divide and closing of schools due to COVID-19 precautions, Houston Rockets star, Russell Westbrook and his nonprofit organization, the Russell Westbrook Why Not? Foundation has partnered with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner’s Office of Education and Comp-U-Dopt to provide children and families with computers needed to access classwork and digital learning resources online.
